Em Watts has changed. figuratively.

She had no desire to attend the Stark Megastore store's grand opening. Frida, her sister, came up with the concept. But her life was altered that day. Em attempts to shove her sister Frida out of the path to save her from suffering damage, but she gets crushed by a falling television screen in the process.

Em doesn't know what occurred when she wakes up in the hospital. She can only remember tidbits of that day's events, including how Gabriel Luna, a stunning British singer-songwriter, crept into the hospital to offer her flowers. However, odd things do not just happen in this way. Her speech sounds odd, and shortly after, she is taken from the hospital and brought back to her fictitious luxury apartment by her purported lover Brandon Stark and best friend Lulu Collins. Em is clueless as to why she is being escorted out by well-known individuals who she has only vaguely heard of by perusing her sister Frida's publications. She doesn't realize that she's trapped in supermodel Nikki Howard's body, of course.
