After the events of the previous year, Judith, Suzie, and Becks, also known as the Marlow Murder Club, have been having a fun and murder-free time. The most exciting event coming up is Sir Peter Bailey, the Marlow grandee, getting married to Jenny Page, his nurse. The day before the wedding, Sir Peter is throwing a party at his opulent estate on the Thames, and Judith and company are excited about some complimentary champagne.
But as the Marlow Murder Club rushes to the scene of the party, they discover the soon-to-be groom crushed to death in his study. There had been a crash from within the home.
Since the study was locked from the inside, the death is not being investigated by the police. Judith, though, is not convinced. From her perspective, Peter was killed! And before the murderer strikes again, it is the Marlow Murder Club's responsibility to track them down.
