Everything, Everything

My illness is both renowned and very unusual. I have a kind of severe combined immunodeficiency, but in essence, I have a globe allergy. I haven't left my home in fifteen years, and I never plan to. My mother and Carla, my nurse, are the only people I ever see.

However, a moving truck shows up one day. new neighbors next door. I notice him when I glance out the window. He's tall, slender, and dressed all in black, including a black knit cap that fully covers his hair, black shoes, black pants, and a black t-shirt. He notices my gaze and fixes his gaze on me. I return the look. He goes by Olly. I do want to know all there is to know about him. I find out that he's tough and hilarious. I find out that his vice is stealing cutlery, and that his eyes are the color of the Atlantic Ocean. I discover that when I chat to him, everything opens up for me and I start to feel different—like I desire things more. to want to escape my bubble. to want all that the world is capable of providing.

Even while we may not be able to forecast everything, we can predict certain things. For instance, Olly is someone I will undoubtedly fall in love with. It will most likely be a catastrophe.
