Murder at the Vicarage

Raising a cutting knife above a roast beef joint, the parson said, "Anyone who murdered Colonel Protheroe would be doing the world at large a favor!" A thoughtless comment for a man of the cloth. And one that, just a few hours later, would return to haunt the priest when the colonel was discovered shot to death in the clergyman's study. However, Miss Marple quickly learns that there seems to have been a reason for the hamlet as a whole to assassinate Colonel Protheroe.
