As soon as Darth Vader's funeral pyre on Endor burns completely down, a distant Imperial outpost calls for assistance, which is picked up by the Alliance. Standing on the brink of known space, Bakura is the first to encounter the Ssi-ruuk, icy reptile invaders who, after having sided with the now-deceased Emperor, are moving into Imperial space with the sole intention of gaining complete dominance. Princess Leia views the expedition as a chance for the Alliance to win a diplomatic battle. However, it takes on much more significance when Luke Skywalker has a vision of Obi-Wan Kenobi and is told to go to Bakura or risk losing all the Rebels have worked so hard to accomplish.

As the Alliance arrives, the aliens have almost overrun the Bakura Imperial garrison. The garrison's desperate commander is willing to take assistance from any source, even Rebels, in order to defeat an evil enemy that enslaves Human brains to operate their unstoppable war and destruction machines.

Luke, Han Solo, and Princess Leia must gain the Bakurans' confidence and cooperation in order to organize the ragged Imperial soldiers. Even if the Imperial Governor Nereus has temporarily given the Rebels pardon, there is a chance that individuals whose primary loyalty is to the Empire would turn against them.

Before the last explosive assault, Rebel and Imperial soldiers need to make peace with one another.or risk losing the whole galaxy to the abhorrent forced labor that a triumphant extraterrestrial foe has pledged.

The Truce at Bakura, which captures the grandeur and action of the original Star Wars epic, witnesses the emergence of a timeless love, sows the seed of peace, and honors the selfless sacrifice made by a Jedi to protect Humanity from an alien foe.
