Needed a housemaid.

Requirements include discretion and a desire to go above and above.

It appears to be the ideal job. Excellent pay, lodging, and all of this inside the magnificent Howard family mansion, Highwood Hall, are what we offer. Though it's not a common aspiration for young ladies to work as maids, here is my chance to start over. Furthermore, if I go back to my previous...

But I quickly see that I'm in error. Mrs. Huxley, the severe housekeeper, keeps an eye on everything I do and occasionally peeks out from the shadows. I'm pulled to Alex, the son of Lord Howard, even though I know he's not good for me as an addict, and he shows interest in me.

Everything about Highwood Hall seems a little off, from the winding passageways winding through the expansive estate to the abandoned north wing, which is said to be haunted. Like the secrets I keep close, it's simple to picture what lies behind these walls.

I get a strange box on my first day. When I crack up the elegant gift box, I discover a tiny dollhouse replica of myself inside. I'm dead in this scenario, lying at the base of the exquisitely reconstructed staircase in a pool of crimson paint. I received this menacing diorama in the mail, but who knows that I work at the hall? What are their desires?

There's only one thing I know for sure: my dream job is becoming my dream nightmare.
