The release date for the English version of 'A Discovery of Witches' by Deborah Harkness is Feb 2011. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

An very creative book about a centuries-old vampire, a witch under spells, and the enigmatic document that connects them.

During her studies, Diana Bishop, a young researcher, inadvertently summons a magical alchemical text from deep inside Oxford's Bodleian Library. Diana, who comes from a long and illustrious line of witches, is opposed to magic, so she tosses the book into the piles after taking a quick peek and making some notes. However, her discovery awakens a fanciful underworld, and soon the library is overrun by a swarm of daemons, witches, and vampires. The only being capable of removing the treasure's enchantment is Diana, who has discovered a sought-after item lost for millennia.

A captivating and captivating book, Deborah Harkness' first novel is equal parts romance and suspense, history and magic. Diana is a fearless heroine who meets vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont as an equal and eventually grows to like him as their friendship develops into an intimacy that defies long-standing conventions. Though it is as modern and sensual as the Twilight series, this clever, nuanced tale has a nod to Anne Rice's books while also adding a dash of historical authenticity.
