Eleven-year-old Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped on June 10, 1991, from a school bus stop near her Tahoe, California, home. Dugard, her kids, and Phillip Craig Garrido showed up to the California parole officer's office on August 26, 2009. Their peculiar behavior prompted an inquiry that resulted in the identification of Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was living in a tent outside Garrido's house, as the culprit. At the ages of fourteen and seventeen, she gave birth to two daughters while under captivity; Garrido was the father of both of them.
