A Stroke of Midnight

As Princess Meredith, the heir to the darkest reign faerie has to offer, I am also Meredith Gentry, P.I., investigating crimes in Los Angeles, distant from the danger and deceit of my actual home. I feel the might of the Unseelie Court. However, what cost does such wizardry have? To what extent will I have to embrace the dark side of faerie and to what extent will I have to give up my human side? I may have to become the thing I fear most in order to sit on a throne that has reigned through centuries of slaughter and terror.

My enemies follow my every step. Cel, my cousin, is still trying from his jail cell to have me murdered. However, not every attempt at murder is his. My aunt Andais, Queen of Air and Darkness, has been waited upon by some unseen nobility for millennia to deteriorate to the point where she may be removed from her throne. Unexpected adversaries who would kill the weakest among us march against us.

For the first time in our history, the danger will force us to let human police inside Faerie. Especially because destiny will thrust me into the arms of Mistral, Master of Storms, the queen's new commander of her guard, I need my friends now more than ever. Our ardor will resurrect among the Sidhe warriors abilities that have been long lost. Danger and pleasure await me as well as pain, as some people at that court are solely interested in death.

The demi-fey with the butterfly wings will bring me new delights. Sex and violence are just as common among the sidhe as they are among the lower fey of our court, as my guards and I shall demonstrate to all of Faerie. Frost will console Darkness as he weeps. My heart will be broken by the most gentle of my guardians who will gain new power. Unimaginable passions await us, and my foes are gathering as the future of both faerie courts starts to fall apart.
