Faith Devin was a poor, misfit youngster who had always admired the town's golden boy from a distance. She was raised in Prescott, Louisiana. However, he referred to her as "white trash" on that steamy Southern evening when both her attractive mother and her wealthy, well-respected father vanished. Faith's current goal was to despise Gray Rouillard rather than have a strong lustful feeling. However, she was unable to stifle her desire any more than she was able to conceal the reality of the past that she had been waiting so long to reveal.

Gray Rouillard exuded flair even while he caused mayhem. Gray was in charge of the town of Prescott; he was attractive, rash, and financially supported by Rouillard; he had no desire to hear the name Devlin ever again. However, all he saw as he looked down at Faith Devlin was a tangle of tangled linens and her smooth skin. It was difficult, even unimaginable, to take care of her since Gray Rouillard intended to damage her with all of his might.
