An American Marriage

Celestial and Roy, a newlywed couple, represent the New South as well as the American Dream. She is an artist on the verge of a promising career, and he is a young executive. However, as they get used to their new normal, they are upended by events neither of them could have predicted. Roy is detained and given a twelve-year sentence for a crime Celestial is certain he did not commit. Despite her strong sense of independence, Celestial is lost and despondent; she seeks solace in Andre, her childhood friend and the best man at their wedding.
