Dante's a swimmer. Not Ari can. Dante is confident and well-spoken. Ari struggles to express herself and has self-doubt. Dante loses himself in art and poetry. Ari loses himself in thoughts about his incarcerated elder brother. Dante has pale skin. Ari has even darker features. A youngster like Dante, with his open and distinct outlook on life, would appear to be the last person to dismantle the barriers that Ari has erected around himself.

But against all odds, when Ari and Dante meet, they develop a special bond that will teach them the most important truths of their lives, and help define the people they want to be.
