When the heavens and earth meet

Beneath the dark sky

The winter solstice in the sacred city of Tova is generally a time of festivity and rebirth, but this year it falls on the same day as a solar eclipse, an uncommon astronomical occurrence that the Sun Priest has declared to be an unbalance of the universe.

In the meanwhile, a ship that is scheduled to arrive in Tova on the solstice sets sail from a far-off city. Xiala, the ship's captain, is a disgraced Teek whose singing has the power to both twist a man's head and soothe the seas around her. She is the only passenger aboard her ship. The traveller, Serapio, a young guy who is blind, damaged, and shrouded in fate, is described as innocent. As Xiala is well aware, a guy who is portrayed as innocent almost always turns out to be a villain.
