Saba was born and raised in Silverlake, an arid wasteland often devastated by sandstorms. For a considerable amount of time, the Wrecker civilization has been destroyed, leaving Saba and her family to survive on waste sites. As long as her cherished twin brother Lugh is around, she is okay with it. Saba's world is rocked, however, and she sets out on a mission to rescue Lugh when he is taken prisoner by four hooded riders.

Abruptly thrust into the ugliness and lawlessness of the outside world, Saba finds herself a formidable opponent, an unconquerable survivor, and a determined warrior. Together with a dashing adventurer named Jack and a group of female rebels known as the Free Hawks, Saba's relentless pursuit of Lugh leads to a confrontation that has the potential to alter the destiny of her own civilization.
