Sonya was a stage performer once. She drove fast automobiles, dated attractive guys, and went to glitzy events. But somewhere along the way, the stage lights Sonya lived for dimmed to black. Darkness replaced them; she had blackouts, empty cabinets, and fuzzy evenings she could not recall.

A victim of childhood trauma and a failed career, Sonya plummeted into a deep alcoholic hole. Tommy, her son, was the one person who saved her from totally losing herself. She was as in love with Tommy as she was with the bottle, however. Her addiction made her dread of losing her kid even more intense, making her want to drink at every mother's mistake. She held Tommy's life in her unsteady hands.

Sonya eventually had to make a decision. Give up alcohol, and you'll lose Tommy for good.
