Twenty-eight years later, Savannah persuades her estranged elder sisters, Rayanne and Sue Ellen, to collect the time capsule they buried in their former property in observance of their childhood agreement. But returning home means facing the demons of the past—and their obstinate grandmother, Meemaw.

As they go through the items, they find a picture that was shot the day Georgia vanished and see a familiar-looking lady in the backdrop. While Rayanne and Sue Ellen are ready to move on, Savannah is eager to track down the woman—and maybe some clues about her background.
