Beryl Markham was reared by her father and the indigenous Kipsigis tribe who share his estate after being brought to Kenya from England as a young kid and having her mother forsake her. Beryl is a fearless young lady with an innate awareness of the fragile balance of nature and a passionate love of all things wild because to her unusual upbringing.
