"MacKayla, or Mac for short, is my name. I only very unwillingly came to terms with the truth that I am a sidhe-seer, someone who sees the Fae.

My view is rather straightforward: I consider each day that I'm not being targeted for death to be a happy day. These days haven't been too nice for me. Not since the fall of the barriers between Man and Fae. However, since then, not a single sidhe-seer has lived to tell the tale."

The only clue MacKayla's sister left behind after being killed was a mysterious message on Mac's mobile phone. After traveling to Ireland in pursuit of solutions, Mac quickly finds herself up against a far more formidable obstacle: surviving long enough to acquire a talent that gives her the ability to look beyond the realm of humans and into the perilous domain of the Fae.

Mac is being followed about by the enigmatic and dark Jericho while she investigates her sister's murder; concurrently, she is being pursued by the vicious V'lane, an alpha Fae who turns human women into addicts via promiscuous relationships. As the barrier between the two worlds starts to dissolve, Mac's actual goal becomes apparent: to locate the elusive Sinsar Dubh before anyone else takes possession of the all-powerful Dark Book, as the person who finds it first would have ultimate authority over both realms.
