Dead to the World

Cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse works in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Few people are close to Sookie since not everyone is aware of her talent—the ability to read minds. Unless they're undead, that's not exactly every man's idea of date bait; vampires and the like may be difficult to read. And Sookie has been waiting for precisely that type of person. Perhaps this explains why she doesn't just drive past a naked vampire when she sees one. He doesn't know who he is, but Sookie does: Eric seems to be as attractive, menacing, and dead as ever. However, he is now amnesic, gentle, and defenseless, and he needs Sookie's assistance since the one who stole his memories now desires his life.
