Dirty Thirty

Stephanie Plum, the most diligent and unappreciated bounty hunter in Trenton, receives a seemingly straightforward freelancing assignment. Martin Rabner, a local jeweler, wants her to find Andy Manley, also known as Nutsy, his former security guard, who he believes stole a fortune's worth of jewels from his vault. In addition, Stephanie is searching for Duncan Dugan, a problematic man who was detained as a runaway from justice after stealing the same jewelry store on the same day.

Stephanie is caring for Bob, her lover Morelli's enormous orange dog, who would eat anything, even Stephanie's errant donuts and the upholstery in her car, while Morelli is gone in Miami on police business. The mysterious and alluring security expert Ranger takes center stage in Stephanie's life when things unavoidably go wrong because Morelli isn't around. He appears committed to staying there as well.

To make matters worse, her closest friend Lula believes she is being followed by a mythological creature that is determined to take her clothes away from her. Three generations of women with steely nerves and driving prowess fit for NASCAR champions are revealed during an overnight stakeout with Stephanie's mother and Grandma Mazur.

It will be difficult for Stephanie to maintain her integrity when everyone else is acting shady as the number of dead climbs and witnesses begin to vanish. Stephanie's lack of fear of getting a little dirty is also a wonderful thing.
