Elevator Pitch

Four individuals go into an elevator in a Manhattan office building on a Monday, marking the start of it all. Everyone hits a button corresponding to their floor, yet the elevator keeps going, endlessly, to the summit. When it reaches that point, it stops for a little while before falling.

It seems to be an awful, haphazard disaster. However, it occurs once more on Tuesday, this time in a different Manhattan building. And one of the world's most vertical cities—as well as the media, finance, and entertainment hub of the country—is thrown into disarray on Wednesday as yet another high-rise disaster strikes.

This is obviously everything but random. This is a planned, cold-blooded attempt to scare the city. It's also effective. Thousands of men and women who work in workplaces throughout the city refuse to leave their houses out of fear for their lives. Trade has reduced to a trickle. Apartment building upper levels are unresponsive to emergency calls.

Who is in charge of this? What is the reason behind their actions? What is the connection between the fingerless body discovered on the High Line and these heinous acts of sabotage? It's a race against time for two seasoned New York detectives and a straight-shooting journalist to uncover the truth before the city's newest and tallest residential tower is officially opened on Friday night.
