Greetings from Elsewhere. The beaches are amazing, and there's a wind and warmth. It is serene and calm. You cannot get older or become ill. Want to view some of Picasso's most recent works? Visit one of the museums in Elsewhere. Do you need to discuss your difficulties with someone? Visit Marilyn Monroe's mental health facility.
Liz Hall, then fifteen, winds up somewhere else following her death. It's a realm so unlike Earth, but so very similar. From the day of her death until she returns to Earth as a baby, Liz will age backwards in this place. Liz, nevertheless, would rather become sixteen than fourteen again. It is her desire to get a driver's license. Her goal is to attend college after high school. Liz is also being forced to live a life she doesn't desire with a grandma she hasn't even seen yet now that she is deceased. It's not going well, either. Liz has never known anything but her existence; how can she let go and welcome anything different? Is it feasible that a life lived backwards and a life lived forwards are identical?
The reader will be thinking about sorrow, death, and loss long after the final page is turned in this poignant and often humorous novel.
