I've been living this life for fifty years, and for the past thirty-five of those years, I've been journaling clues to solve the mystery for forty-two of those years. Notes on triumphs and disappointments, happiness and sadness, marvels and belly laughs. The way to be just. Ways to reduce stress. Ways of having fun. How to lessen harm to others. How to avoid being harmed. Ways to be a decent guy. Ways to have a meaningful life. Ways to be more like me.

I finally mustered up the bravery to sit down and read those diaries. I discovered experiences I had, things I had learnt but forgotten, poetry, prayers, prescriptions, convictions about what is important, some amazing pictures, and a tonne of bumper stickers. I discovered a consistent pattern, a way of living that at the time offered me greater enjoyment, and it still does: You may experience a level of success I refer to as "catching greenlights" if you know when and how to cope with life's obstacles and learn to accept the unavoidable.

Thus, I purchased a one-way trip to the desert and composed this book, which is a record, album, and account of my life to date. This represents fifty years of my experiences—my cools and shamefuls, felts and figured-outs. The charms, graces, and realities of cruelty. Trying to dance between the raindrops, getting away with things, being caught, and getting soaked.

Ideally, it's tasty medication, a few aspirin rather than hospital visits, a spacecraft to Mars without requiring a pilot's licence, attending church without needing to be reborn, and smiling through the tears.

It's a letter of love. to vitality.

It serves as a manual for spotting additional greenlights as well as for understanding that yellow and red lighting ultimately become green as well.
