House Atreides

Millions of readers worldwide were captivated by Frank Herbert's acclaimed Dune series. Six of Herbert's books in the series were finished at the time of his death in 1986, but much of his vision remained unwritten. Now, popular author Kevin J. Anderson and writer Brian Herbert are writing together on a new book called the prequel to Dune, where we see the planet Arrakis decades before the film's protagonist, Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, walks its dunes. Herbert draws inspiration for this work from his father's newly rediscovered papers.

Eleven-year-old Duncan Idaho, a slave, is hunted by his cruel masters in a terrifying game from which he vows escape and vengeance. However, none can have predicted the destiny that awaits them—one that would turn them into outlaws and historical influencers.
