Elena Konnikova has been hidden from the light for her whole adult life. Her only means of escaping danger as the daughter of a mysteriously missing Russian journalist was to marry her childhood buddy Vladimir and go to Nashville, Tennessee, where he plays professional hockey, to avoid danger.

Vlad, often known as the Russian, believed that his marriage of convenience would suffice. However, it's become too hard to stay in a one-sided relationship. In an attempt to learn how to win his wife over, he joined the Bromance Book Club, but all he's discovered is that he deserves more.
