This is the tale of three closest friends: one was killed, one was imprisoned, and one has spent years looking for the truth.

One of the most popular girls in school, Angela Wong, vanished from sight when she was sixteen years old. Her closest friend Georgina Shaw, who is now an executive and rising star at her pharmaceutical firm in Seattle, was never suspected of being connected in any way. Not Kaiser Brody, who had a strong relationship with both females throughout their high school years.

However, Angela Wong's bones are found in the woods next to Geo's boyhood home fourteen years later. The truth is eventually revealed to Kaiser, a detective with the Seattle Police Department: Angela was a victim of Calvin James. Calvin James, the same one who killed three or more women.

Calvin is considered a serial murderer by the police. But he's a completely different person to Geo. Geo's first love was Calvin in high school. Their relationship was turbulent and sometimes tumultuous, almost to the point of obsession from the time they first met until the night Angela was slain.

Geo kept the truth of what had happened to Angela to himself for fourteen years. She kept the news of Angela's passing a secret for fourteen years, until Geo was apprehended and imprisoned.

There are dark secrets hidden underground, even if everyone believes they have finally discovered the truth. And no one really understands the full extent of the terrifying and intricate events that transpired on that tragic night. Presently, the lethal present collides with the compulsive past as fresh corpses, murdered in precisely the same way as Angela Wong, start to appear.

To what extent would someone go in order to keep her sorrow and secrets hidden? For what length of time is a lie acceptable? How much longer can you tolerate it?
