The release date for the English version of 'Jesus Freaks: Stories of Those Who Stood for Jesus, the Ultimate Jesus Freaks' by
D.C. Talk is Jan 1999. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.
The companion book to dc Talk's album of the same name is called Jesus Freaks by dc Talk and The Voice of the Martyrs. This young adult book explores the theme of martyrdom and includes several biographies of notable individuals, including Stephen, whose martyrdom is chronicled in the Book of Acts, and "Anila and Perveen," two adolescent Pakistani girls who are also Christians. Anila was imprisoned for aiding her friend's escape in 1997, while Perveen was slain for eloping to avoid marrying a Muslim guy. Michael Tait outlines the goal of the book in the preface, saying that "we must be the freaks in a society where free choice is valued more highly than divine will. We must martyr our way of life even if we may not be asked to martyr our lives. We have to die to our self-serving habits and start marching to a new rhythm. Then Jesus will be seen by everyone." The book's layout is stylish and simple to read, and its overview of current Christian persecutions is both helpful and unsettling.
