Georgie McCool has known for a long time that her marriage is in peril. Although it almost seems irrelevant at this time, she still loves her husband, Neal, and he still loves her very much.
Perhaps it was always irrelevant.
Georgie informs Neal that she is unable to go two days before their scheduled Christmas visit to Neal's relatives in Omaha. She writes for TV, and she needs to remain in Los Angeles because of something that happened to her program. She is aware that Neal will be angry with her since he is always a bit angry with Georgie, but she doesn't think he would load the kids up and leave without her.
Georgie wonders if she has succeeded as her spouse and the children go for the airport. If she has destroyed everything.
Georgie finds a means to speak with Neal from the past that evening. Though it's not quite time travel, she believes she has been granted a chance to save her marriage before it begins.
Is it her responsibility to do that?
Or would it be better for Georgie and Neal if they had never been married?
