Sadie Green is in dire need of three things after being passed up for a long-overdue and much-needed promotion: a strong drink, a new place to live, and a one-night stand. Sadie finds herself at Jack Thomas' stunning Brooklyn brownstone's doorway after mistaking a long-ignored dating app for a roommate-finding app after one drink turns into one too many. Unfortunately, she is more drawn to his stunning property than to the guy himself.

Jack has learnt to turn to video games and movie marathons rather than friends for solace as he continues to mourn the untimely loss of his parents. Although he is unsure about how to handle the animated and talkative Sadie, he is prepared to lend her his spare bedroom until she gets back on her feet. And now that the rent is so cheap, Sadie can finally work full-time at her side gig of floristry. Though Sadie's presence starts to transform the brownstone into a home, the two, who are complete opposites, come to realize they could have just struck the bargain of a lifetime.
