Les Misérables

The story of injustice, bravery, and love told by Victor Hugo centers on the experiences of Jean Valjean, an escaped prisoner who is eager to leave his past behind. However, his efforts to gain respect from the community are continuously threatened by two things: his own conscience, which is violated when someone else gets arrested for a similar crime, and Inspector Javert's unrelenting investigations. But Valjean's freedom is not only for him; he has vowed to safeguard Fantine's infant daughter, who is being forced into prostitution by her lack of resources.
