It's also known as a gun. That's what Will, who is fifteen, has jammed inside his pants' rear waistband. You see, Shawn, his brother, was recently killed. Will is aware of the guidelines. Don't weep. Not a snitch. Get even. With that gun—his brother's gun—stuck in the back waistband of his trousers, that's where Will is now going. Excited, he boards the seventh-floor elevator. He is aware of his target. Is that right? Buck gets in the elevator as it stops on the sixth level. Will learns that Buck handed Shawn the pistol before he seized it. Buck instructs Will to make sure the rifle is indeed loaded. Will then notices that there is one missing bullet. Furthermore, Shawn was the only one who was capable of firing his rifle. Whoa. Will was unaware that Shawn had ever really put his rifle to use. Greater, huh. DEAD IS BUCK. But is Buck inside the lift? As Will is considering his options, the door leading to the upper level opens. As she boards, a teenage girl waves the cigarette smoke from Dead Buck's mouth. She knew him, but Will doesn't know her. Was aware. at the age of eight. She wants to know what would happen if Will—the guy with the pistol stuffed in his jeans waistband—missed the fifth floor elevator stop after stray bullets tore through the playground. Will attempted to shield her, but she was injured anyway.

And so it continues, the whole length of the journey, with the elevator stopping at each level, and at each one, a relative of Will's boards to add a little of information to a greater tale than Will's own. A tale that, should WILL get off the elevator, may never come to an end.
