Malice

The sun is rising, dark.

Enviously, young Corban observes the youths under King Brenin's command train to become warriors and master the art of combat. He longs to defend his king's domain with his sword and spear. However, that day will arrive much too soon. He won't realise the actual cost of bravery until he loses people he loves.

The Banished Lands had a bloody history in which giants and armies of mankind clashed shields in combat, leaving the ground covered in their blood. The ground is still scarred by the enormous tribes' abandoned fortifications, even though they were destroyed long ago. However, giants are stirring once again, blood is seen on the stones, and massive wyrms have been seen. For those who are still able to see the indications, the danger is far bigger than the old battles. The earth will get gloomy as angels and devils turn it into their battleground. A war to end all wars will then break out.

In order to form an alliance at this difficult time, High King Aquilus calls all of the other kings to council. Some are doubtful, waging their own wars on the frontier against giants and pirates. However, the Black Sun and the Bright Star are the two champions that darkness and light will need, according to prophecy. It would be prudent for them to look for both, since humanity's aspirations and dreams would vanish if the Black Sun takes control.
