The release date for the English version of 'Never Let Me Go' by
Kazuo Ishiguro is Aug 2010. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.
Hailingham seems to be a charming English boarding school, far from the city's effects. Its pupils get excellent care and guidance, training in literature and the arts, and development into the kind of individuals that the world desires. Curiously, however, kids have very little exposure to the outside world and are not taught anything about it.
Kathy develops from a schoolgirl to a young lady on the grounds of Hailsham, but she and her companions Ruth and Tommy don't really understand Hailsham until they leave the school's secure boundaries—as they always knew they would.
The literary novel's bounds are broken by Never Let Me Go. It is a compelling mystery, a lovely love tale, a biting indictment of human hubris, and a moral analysis of how we handle the weak and marginalized in our society. Ishiguro writes his most profound and compelling work to date by tackling the concept of a potential future while delving into issues of memory and the legacy of the past.
