Next Year in Havana

A Cuban-American lady visits Havana after the death of her cherished grandmother, where she learns more about her heritage and uncovers a family mystery that has been kept concealed since the revolution.

Cuba, 1958. Nineteen-year-old Elisa Perez, the daughter of a sugar baron, lives in high society in Cuba. She is mostly shielded from the political upheaval that is escalating in the nation until she has an affair behind closed doors with a fervent revolutionary.

2017 in Miami. Marsol Ferrera, a freelance writer, was raised on nostalgic tales of Cuba by her late grandmother Elisa, who was compelled to escape with her family throughout the revolution. Marisol was to disperse Elisa's ashes in her own country, per her last request.

When Marisol first arrives in Havana, she is confronted by the stark contrast between the island's timeless, tropical beauty and its unstable political situation. Marisol will need the teachings of her grandmother's past to learn the real meaning of bravery when more family history is revealed and she finds herself drawn to a man who has secrets of his own.
