The release date for the English version of 'No, David!' by
David Shannon is Sep 1998. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.
David Shannon authored and drew his first book at the age of five. These were the words on each page:
David, no!
..and a photo of David engaging in inappropriate behavior. But certain things are always the same.
This is the somewhat autobiographical tale of artist and writer David Shannon, who was once a little child who disobeyed all of his mother's restrictions. He hopped on the couch, chewed with his mouth open (and full of food), and smashed his mother's vase! This is David's tale, and the only thing he ever heard his mother utter was "No, David!"
Spokane, Washington, is where David Shannon was raised. His numerous children's books, including How Georgie Saved Baseball (a New York Times Best Illustrated Book), The Amazing Christmas Extravaganza (an American Bookseller Pick of the Lists), and most recently A Bad Case of Stripes (a Junior Library Guild selection) are just a few of the well-known works he has written and illustrated. He also provided the illustrations for Audrey Wood's The Bunyans, which won an ABC Children's Bookseller's Choice award and was named a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year in 1996. David Shannon, his spouse Heidi, and their canine companion Fergus reside in Los Angeles.
