A new series on the Rajes, an immigrant Indian family descending from royalty who settled in San Francisco, is being released by award-winning author Sonali Dev.

It is a well-known fact that the only families where a brilliant girl could be viewed as the bad apple are those of overachieving Indian Americans.

The most renowned neurosurgeon in San Francisco is Dr. Trisha Raje. However, the Rajes, her powerful immigrant family who rose to prominence by establishing their own unbending regulations, find that insufficient:

· Never take any action that could compromise your brother's ambition to become a politician.

And never, ever disobey your family.

Trisha violated each of the three guidelines. However, she now has the opportunity to make amends. as long as she doesn't make the same mistakes twice.

Rising chef DJ Caine has seen individuals similar to Trisha in the past; they value a person's lineage over character and evaluate him based on his difficult upbringing. He appreciates his pride too much to give in to Trisha's conceit, even though he needs the lucrative job the Rajes offer. Subsequently, he learns that she is the sole surgeon capable of rescuing his sister.

Their presumptions fall apart as the two argue, much like the spun sugar on one of DJ's gorgeous desserts.But there is a past to be considered before a future may be enjoyed.
