Queenie

Queenie Jenkins, a 25-year-old British lady of Jamaican descent, lives in London, seamlessly blending into both cultures. She is compelled to compare herself to her white middle class colleagues on a daily basis at her job at a big newspaper. Following a difficult breakup with her long-term white lover, Queenie turns to dangerous males, who are terrific at taking up mental space but not so good at boosting her self-esteem, for solace.

Queenie asks herself, "What am I doing?," as she veers off course and makes bad decisions after problematic decisions. You're doing it, but why? Who would you want to be?—all the questions that a modern woman must ask herself in a world that seems to have the answers.
