The release date for the English version of 'Rainbow Six' by Tom Clancy is Jan 1999. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

Tom Clancy's "natural narrative gift" and "genius for big, compelling plots" (The New York Times Magazine) have captivated hundreds of millions of readers over the course of nine books, making him one of the greatest storytellers of our time. But Rainbow Six does something more than he has ever done.

The protagonist of the story is John Clark, the former Navy SEAL from Without Remorse, who is well-known for being an expert in covert operations from many of Tom Clancy's books. Clark is a lethal and proficient hunter, whether he is taking out nuclear terrorists in the United States, druglords in Colombia, or warlords in Japan. However, even he has demons from his past that need to be vanquished. And there's nothing more diabolical than the danger Rainbow Six presents to him.

Clark is eager to get his teeth into a new mission after being appointed head of an international task force to combat terrorism. However, opportunities start to present themselves more quickly than anyone could have predicted, including an incident at a Swiss bank, the kidnapping of an international trader in Germany, and a horrific raid on a Spanish amusement park.

Though the timing bothers Clark, each episode seems distinct and standalone. Is there a relationship? Is this a test for him? Clark tries to figure out where all this activity is going with the assistance of his close friends, executive officer Alistair Stanley and strike team leaders Domingo Chavez and Peter Covington, but it is impossible to foresee the true threat: a group of terrorists unlike any the world has ever encountered, a group of men and women so radical that their success could literally mean the end of life as we know it.
