Rivers of London

Temporary Constable Peter Grant aspires to work as a detective with the Metropolitan Police in London. Unfortunately, his boss wants to put him in the Case Progression Unit, where the most danger he'll encounter is a paper cut. However, after a perplexing murder, Peter's chances are altered when he receives insider knowledge from a ghostly eyewitness. Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Nightingale, who looks into crimes involving magic and other unexplained manifestations, becomes aware of Peter because of his capacity to communicate with the dead that have not yet passed away. Peter is thrust into a world where gods and goddesses coexist with humans and a long-dead evil is making a reappearance on a rising tide of magic, all as a wave of violent and weird murders sweeps the city.
