A young lady finds a book that a stranger has left behind. His marginal comments, which are included with it, show that the reader is enthralled with both the narrative and its enigmatic creator. She replies with notes of her own, giving the stranger the book, and thus an unusual interaction starts that takes them both into unfamiliar territory.

THE BOOK: Ship of Theseus is the last book written by the prolific but mysterious author V. M. Straka. It tells the story of a guy who has no history and is taken on a risky and confusing trip with a strange crew on a strange ship.

THE WRITER: Straka, a revolutionary whose words and the rumors that surround him are all that the world knows about him. He is the fiery and enigmatic subject of one of the biggest mysteries in history.

THE READERS: Eric, a disgraced graduate student, and Jennifer, a senior in college, must make difficult choices regarding their identities and future selves, as well as how much they can trust with regard to their fears, pains, and desires.
