The release date for the English version of 'Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon' by Patty Lovell is Aug 2001. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

Molly Lou Melon has buck teeth, is small and awkward, and sounds like a bullfrog being squeezed by a boa constrictor in her voice. She doesn't mind, however.

She takes to heart her grandmother's advice to walk confidently, smile broadly, and sing loudly.

Molly Lou will then need to enroll at a new school, however. On the first day, she is picked on by a terrible bully, but Molly Lou Melon knows just how to handle it.

From a young child, Patty Lovell's mother has given her the finest counsel. The most crucial advice she ever gave her was to always be loyal to who you are. Patty has worked as an elementary school teacher on Long Island, London, Harlem, and Virginia. She resides in Sea Cliff and works as a kindergarten teacher in Great Neck, New York, during the time she wrote this book. Her first picture book is this one.

David Catrow is a picture book artist. His works include the 2000 picture book How Murray Saved Christmas as well as the 1995 and 1991 New York Times best illustrated books She's wearing a Dead Bird on Her Head and The Cataract of Lodor. His interest in this tale sprang from Molly Lou's upbeat demeanor, and the picture he drew was influenced by Emily Anne, a little preterm infant. Her vivacity and love of life have ensured that her stature hasn't hindered her. David lives next door to Emily in Springfield, Ohio, with his family.
