How can one resist fate?

Helen Hamilton has been attempting for the last sixteen years to disguise her differences, which is not an easy assignment on a tiny, protected island like Nantucket. And the going becomes tougher. Helen wakes up from a nightmare of a difficult desert trek, dehydrated, to discover her bedding stained with dust and filth. When Helen first meets Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing that they are destined to play the key parts in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history. She is also plagued by hallucinations at school of three ladies sobbing bloody tears.

Helen discovers that certain stories are more than simply tale as she deciphers the mysteries of her lineage. To resist the forces that are attempting to separate her and Lucas and bringing them together, however, may need more than just demigod abilities.
