Survivor Song

Within weeks, a sneaky saliva-transmitted rabies-like virus has taken over the state of Massachusetts. However, the illness has an incredibly brief incubation period—one hour or less—unlike rabies. Before they eventually pass away, those that are bitten rapidly go insane and become motivated to bite and infect as many people as they can. Hysteria has set in as a result of the overflow of sick and dying patients into hospitals. The commonwealth is under curfew and quarantine in an effort to slow down its spread. However, the government's emergency protocols are failing and civilization is collapsing.

Natalie, a friend who is eight months pregnant, calls Dr. Ramola "Rams" Sherman, a gentle physician in her mid-thirties, in a panic. After a neighbor with the infection savagely attacked Natalie's husband, resulting in his death, Natalie was bitten in an unsuccessful attempt to save him. Natalie's only hope of surviving is to reach a hospital as soon as possible so that she can be vaccinated against rabies. Time is of the essence for both her and her unborn kid.

Natalie's battle for survival turns into a difficult journey as she and Rams navigate a dangerous environment full of perils beyond their wildest dreams—terrifying, peculiar, and occasionally fatal obstacles that drive them to the verge of death.
