Sworn to Silence

Some crimes are too horrible to solve, and some secrets are too horrible to divulge. For two centuries, the Amish and "English" inhabitants of Painters Mill, Ohio, have coexisted peacefully in this quaint rural community. However, a string of vicious killings that occurred sixteen years ago devastated the tranquil agricultural town. The community experienced a loss of innocence and a feeling of vulnerability following the bloodshed. A young Amish girl named Kate Burkholder escaped the horrors of the Slaughterhouse Killer, but she emerged from its cruelty realizing she was no longer part of the Amish. Kate has been requested to return to Painters Mill as Chief of Police after gaining a plethora of experience. Her experience in large city law enforcement and her Amish upbringing make her an ideal choice. She believes she has accepted her history, at least for the most part, until the first corpse is found in a frozen field. Kate promises to put an end to the murderer before he kills again. But in order to do so, she will have to reveal a sinister truth that might ruin her and betray both her Amish heritage and her family.
