If only Maggie Banks, myself, believed in doing what's right.
Maggie Banks hopes to sell bestsellers to her small-town customers when she moves to Bell River to take over her best friend's failing bookshop. However, it's not simple to manage a bookshop in a town known for its literary heritage. Maggie is prohibited from selling any books published in the twenty-first century by Bell River's literary club, which is determined to maintain the bookshop in the past. Maggie will thus need to use her inventiveness to keep the bookshop afloat when a string of unfortunate events abruptly push it over the edge into destruction.
Furthermore, book rules are meant to be violated in Maggie's universe.
Maggie launches an underground book club and hosts a number of events honoring the books that people really like in an effort to salvage the business. It is virtually hard, however, to keep the club covert, sell books that are prohibited, and avoid the literary society. Particularly when Maggie discovers a secret in the community that has the power to completely change everything.
Maggie will have to choose between the tales that have the power to completely alter the course of history and the books that have shaped the history of a little town.
