The Burning Maze

Zeus sentenced the once-glorious deity Apollo to earth, where he now exists as an awkward human adolescent called Lester Papadopoulos. In order to regain his place on Mount Olympus, Lester must restore five Oracles that have gone dark. However, he must accomplish this unattainable goal without the aid of any supernatural abilities and while fulfilling his obligation to Meg, Demeter's perplexing little daughter. Many thanks, Dad.

Lester made it through his first two trials—one at Camp Half-Blood and the other in Indianapolis, where Meg was given the Dark Prophecy—with the aid of a few demigod pals. She stated that a trio of wicked Roman emperors intended to assault Camp Jupiter in her speech from the Throne of Memory. Lester and Meg have to navigate a labyrinth to locate the third emperor and an Oracle who talks in word riddles somewhere in the American Southwest, while Leo soars ahead on Festus to alert the Roman camp. There is one glimmer of hope in the gloom-filled prophecy: The cloven guide alone the way does know. Meg knows just who to rely on for their satyr companion....
