The Cross of Lead

All he's ever been called is "Asta's Son". Given that he and his mother are just impoverished peasants in 14th-century medieval England, their lack of a name makes sense. However, this thirteen-year-old child, who had previously believed he had nothing to lose, suddenly discovers that he has even less: no family, no home, and no goods. Accused of a crime he did not commit, he may be executed by anyone, right there. He had to leave his little community if he wants to survive. The youngster leaves with little more than his mother's lead cross and his just discovered name, Crispin.
