The Fiancée Farce

There's no harm in lying a little, since they will never really meet. Tansy's white lie, however, almost bursts when real-life Gemma comes across her path.

Born into an affluent family, Gemma van Dalen was always a wild girl. She is now the newest member of the Van Dalen Publishing family. She must be married in order for her to inherit, though, which is a small requirement attached to the title. Gemma decides to amp up the charade and declare their engagement after learning that a stunning stranger has been pretending to date her for months.

Tansy needs money to turn her failing bookstore around, and Gemma needs a marriage in order to fulfill the requirements of her grandfather's estate. If both partners can make everyone believe they are a perfect match, a marriage might be advantageous to both of them. As Tansy and Gemma pretend to be devoted fiancées, unexpected sparks develop, and the distinction between a practical arrangement and genuine affections starts to wane. The plotting Van Dalen family, however, is not going to give up the business lightly, and Gemma and Tansy's recent happiness may be entangled in the consequences.
