Dead are six teens. At last, the murderer is apprehended. Or are the games just getting started?

Dr. Gwen Moore, a psychiatrist, specializes in killings. She has dedicated the last ten years to treating the most heinous predators in California and discovering the motivations behind them—predators akin to the infamous Bloody Heart serial murderer, whose most recent adolescent victim managed to escape and later identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as his captor. In the eyes of Gwen and the media, the case against Thompson as the Bloody Heart Killer is convincing and closed. If not for one recent occurrence...

Robert Kavin, the defense lawyer, is a still devastated parent whose son was killed by the BH Killer. He intervenes on Thompson's behalf, certain of his innocence. Robert now requests that Gwen speak with the accused, compile a psychological profile of the murderer and his victims, and assist in clearing his client's reputation.

Serious concerns surface as Gwen and Robert become closer and she delves more into the inquiry. Thus, too, does Gwen's feeling that Robert is not the only one having a secret and that he is concealing something.
