The Guardians

One late night, Keith Russo, a young attorney, was shot and killed at his desk in the little hamlet of Seabrook, Florida in the north. The murderer left no trail of evidence. No one with a motive, no true suspects, and no witnesses were there. Quincy Miller, a young Black guy who had previously been Russo's client, was the target of the police's attention.

After being set up, Quincy was found guilty and given a life sentence. He was imprisoned for twenty-two years without access to legal representation or outside supporters. Then he sent a letter to Guardian Ministries, a little organisation dedicated to promoting innocence that was founded by Cullen Post, a lawyer and preacher.

Post is Guardian's only investigator, and it only takes on a small number of innocence cases at a time. He fights false convictions and takes on cases that no one else would take on while touring the South. But he receives considerably more than he expected from Quincy Miller. Strong, merciless individuals killed Keith Russo, and they do not want Quincy cleared.

Twenty-two years ago, they murdered one lawyer, and they have no qualms about killing another.
